Myanmar TESOL Association (MmTESOL), established in 2013, is a non-profit and non-government professional association, dedicated to advancing quality teacher education and professional development for teachers in English language education. We represent ELT (English language teaching) and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) professionals, enterprises and organisations in Myanmar. Our core values are professional integrity, respect and inclusion.
Members are encouraged to share articles or news, propose discussion topics, post requests for professional advice, and suggest future PD programs. You can contribute to blogs, webinars, research or community projects through the association’s email or via Facebook posts. Participating as a guest speaker or helping to provide training are also ways to be a part of our community.
MmTESOL organizes a variety of professional development events such as:
a. Free online workshops and webinars are conducted to meet the immediate needs of teachers, learners, and our community. (e.g., Helping Myanmar youths via Edu talks, trauma-informed classroom practices for teachers, educators, parents and guardians)
b. Virtual international conferences and physical conferences are also provided. (e.g., one held in December 2020 with 23 speakers and 18 sessions, drawing over 900 participants)
c. Discussion forums and community based events on topics ranging from digital literacy to inclusive teaching.

We have been offering all webinars and some courses for free so far. However, for certain courses, such as TKT core modules and Teaching Young Learners Courses, we charge a minimum fee.
Yes, we provide the TKT scholarship to exceptional candidates and individuals who necessitate financial support.
